NZSP/Medical Staffing International Achievement 2009 Award for Physiotherapy

The winner of the 2009 award is Dr Tony Schneiders.

Dr Schneiders will use the award to attend the “Be active 09” conference in Brisbane later this year. The conference brings together some of the finest speakers from Australia and around the world to present a comprehensive scientific forum on different aspects of physical activity and injury prevention. He will be presenting his research on:

“The effect of graded exercise on motor performance tasks used in the neurological assessment of sports related concussion.”

Dr Tony Schneiders is the Assoc. Dean Postgraduate Studies at the School of Physiotherapy, University of Otago. His specific research interests include sports injury/prevention, sports-related concussion, biomechanics (3D motion analysis & electromyography), exercise prescription, exercise compliance/adherence issues, balance & proprioception, and low back pain.
